Hei, I'm Ina and normally I'm not really lazy or something. Actually I'm quite hard working always! But you know, sometimes you just have those days that nothing is working, difficult to get out of bed in the morning, your roommate try to eat your breakfast, and than you still have to go working... Deep fresh snow and 30 km. in front of you... Do you know that kind of feeling? I at least had one of those days last week. Luckily I had a really friendly musher and a guide who understood exactly my mood... This was the result :-)
For more than 20 years Siberian and Alaskan huskies are part of the daily life in Saija Lodge. Today there are living about 160 huskies in Saija Lodge husky farm. Through this blog they keep you posted about their goings.

Love is in the air....
What an exciting time it was, Christmas, New Year. An busy too! The house was full so we, the dogs from Saija, had plenty possibilities to run... and to party. Because, as usually in the busiest time of year, half of the females are in heat... And I mean some are really, literally hot... :-)
Of course we don't get to the ones which are on the top of there heat, but the ones which are not yet or those which just got over are within reach the moment they start working again :-) And they are still really attractive, so of course we have to try if it's still working. Causing big mess during the start and the breaks of the safari's!
But although they say I, Kindy, am a loverboy. I'm not even the worst of the gang. I heard Jymy and especially Joiku are the real playboys here!

A visit from the girl next door...
We know... Last week the girl next door, Nuna, wrote that she paid us, Bebbe, Bans, Belle, Barbie and Birgit, a visit and was complaining that there was not much playing because we were still so much baby...
Now, two weeks later, our favourite guide Ales let her pay a visit again and proofed on camera that for sure we can also play! One of us was even so brave to chase Nuna around the kennel... :-) But then it is also really safe to escape under Mother Donna's wings again!

Floppy ears, it runs in the family...
About six weeks old and I, Nuna, start to get quite a bit of attention from the guests already so early in the season.

Of course that might have something to do with my floppy ear... It looks like I inherited it from my uncle Ana... only the other way around :-)

Otherwise I had also an exciting week, because I was visiting the neighbour girls Barbie, Bella, Bans, Bebbe and Birgit. Because I'm only child and nobody to play with (except for my mother who I always tease with biting her legs...) I was quite excited, but a small disappointment, they are still so small little babies not really possible to play with them.

Abiti, following into his father's footsteps...
The only problem was to find the right partner for me... At the moment they choose to give me Susan, my father's partner. But she is also not the youngest anymore so we have to see if she can keep up with my speed the whole winter :-)
And of course I still have to learn a lot before I'm about as good as my father, but at least they think I showed the right skills: I'm quiet before we start, go lay down when we have break and I'm able to keep about the same speed during the whole trip... I only have difficulties when leaving the kennel, I'm not quite sure yet when is the right moment to start. Susan always seems to wait for me and I want to wait until Susan starts... But when the guide finally strongly "advice" us to start running, we gooooo...
I also have one speciality, which I think is quite funny: When I cooled down my nose in the snow I shake my head with my mouth open. It makes a really funny sound :-)

Blakes first time...
But I'm still young and have to earn my place. They say, end of the winter I will be probably a bit more calmed down....
